How to plant white azalea seeds

How to plant white azalea seeds

1. Sowing time

The flowering period of white azalea plum is May, and the fruits are from June to September. The seeds can be collected when they are ripe in September. The collected seeds are placed under natural light conditions to dry and then stored, which can be kept until March of the following year. When the temperature rises in spring, seeds are sown in March.

2. Climate

1. Temperature

There is no high temperature requirement for sowing, and a sunny day under natural conditions is best.

2. Moisture

The grown-up white azalea is drought-resistant and does not like water very much, so it is suitable for a very humid climate. However, the seeds must be kept sufficiently moist during the budding stage. You can cover them with a straw mat to keep them moist and prevent them from evaporating too quickly.

2. Sowing Method

1. Find a good piece of land for sowing, dig holes and plant seeds. Because this plant has good cold resistance, it can be planted in open air. It is best to choose a slope with plenty of sunshine.

2. After planting the seeds, water them appropriately. The temperature difference between spring and summer is large. In order to keep warm, it is covered with about one centimeter of scorched earth and finally covered with a straw mat. Seedlings will grow in 20 days to a month.

3. When the seedlings grow to three or four centimeters, thinning should be carried out. Thinning is mainly about adjusting the spacing between seedlings to prevent overcrowding, while also removing diseased and weak seedlings. Water lightly before thinning out, and choose a sunny day after rain.

4. During the growth period of seedlings, weeding and soil turning should be carried out. Appropriate fertilizer should be applied in May and June, about two or three times.

4. If the sowing time is late, in midsummer, shade the seedlings to prevent sunburn. The straw mat should prevent drought. Once insufficient water is found, water should be applied in time to keep it moist.

3. Transplantation

By the end of the year of planting, the plant will grow to 30 cm and eventually grow to 60 cm. Transplanting can be done in the spring of the following year. Seedlings do not need to be transplanted with soil, but the plants during the growth period need to be transplanted with soil. The hole for planting should be larger, some fertilizer should be added, and then the soil should be cultivated.
