Planting lotus in summer

Lotus can be grown using lotus seeds or lotus roots. Huahua suggests that it is best to use lotus root buds, which grow fast and are 100% likely to bloom and produce seeds.

1. Prepare a complete lotus root sprout. Do not use the middle part of the lotus root, but the part at the top. Only this part can sprout and grow into a lotus flower.

2. Prepare a large basin, the bigger the better, with a diameter of more than 30 cm. If you have a large vat for flour at home, it is best to use the large vat!

3. Go to the riverside or pond to dig some silt, or dig some garden soil and add some chicken manure to the bottom to make the silt yourself. No matter what kind of silt it is, be sure to disinfect it thoroughly, otherwise it will be full of mosquitoes and small black flies!

4. Place the lotus buds facing upwards and bury them in the mud. Then pour in clean water and keep the water layer above the mud at about 3-5 cm.

5. At this temperature, leaves will grow soon!

6. Apply some decomposed chicken manure fertilizer every half a month, and it will bloom after a month!

Pick a few lotus leaves in the summer and use them to make tea!

It’s hot in the summer and it’s easy to get angry. At this time, you might as well pick a few lotus leaves, dry them and make a pot of tea to clear away heat and reduce internal heat, and it also tastes very fragrant!

1. Pick the lotus leaves, leaving only the leaves but not the stems, wash them, and expose them to the sun to dehydrate them until the leaves break into pieces when pinched.

2. Break the dried lotus leaves into small pieces and put them into the tea bucket. When you want to drink tea, take out a few pieces and brew them with boiling water and you can drink it!

After the lotus flowers bear lotus seeds in autumn, you can pick them and eat them raw or make porridge. They are delicious!

1. Pick fresh lotus seeds, peel them and you can eat them. They are very tender and sweet!

2. You can also dry the lotus seeds, and then cook them into porridge with white fungus, wolfberry and rock sugar. It is soft, glutinous and sweet.
