The difference between Caragana and Goldfinch

The difference between Caragana and Goldfinch

1. Caragana

Caragana, also known as goldbroom and broom, is a deciduous shrub of the genus Caragana in the Fabaceae family. Its flowers are most abundant in April and May, growing singly or in pairs in the leaf axils, and its corolla is yellow and butterfly-shaped. It is mostly distributed in North my country, East China and Sichuan and other places in China. It likes warmth and is drought-resistant, and can resist low temperatures to a certain extent.

2. Goldfinch

The broom, also known as the gorse and the Scottish broom, is a deciduous shrub of the genus Broom in the Fabaceae family. The flowers are solitary or opposite in the leaf axils, the corolla is yellow and butterfly-shaped, and the flowering period is from April to May. Sometimes there are still sparse flowers when the fruit is produced in autumn. This plant is native to Europe and is commonly found in northern my country, where it is used as hedges or in landscaping.

3. Difference

Caragana and Genus Brontosa belong to the same family but different genera. In some areas, they are confused as the same, but their appearance is indeed somewhat similar. The main difference between the two lies in the leaves and flowers. The leaves of Caragana are even-pinnate compound leaves, and the pedicels are mostly solitary; while the leaves of Broom are palmately trifoliate compound leaves, and the flowers are in clusters.
