How to care for holly bonsai

1. Soil

It likes fertile, well-drained slightly acidic soil and is not tolerant to saline and alkali.

2. Lighting

It likes light and can also be grown in the shade. It should be kept in the shade during the high temperatures in summer and needs to be grown in a warm and humid place to overwinter. Appropriate light is sufficient in other seasons.

3. Moisture

It is a relatively drought-resistant plant. During the growing period, you can increase the amount of water appropriately to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. In winter, reduce the amount of watering and water only when the soil is dry.

4. Temperature

It grows more prosperously in warm and humid places, and the suitable growth temperature is 13-18℃. It is very cold-resistant and can survive at temperatures above -8℃, but the cold resistance of potted plants is slightly weakened, and it can safely overwinter as long as the indoor room temperature is kept above 0℃. The temperature in summer should not be too high. The growth will be slow above 35℃. It should be placed in a cool place and sprayed with water on the leaves in time to use evaporation to cool down.

5. Notes

Fertilize once every half a month in spring, preferably with a dilute cake fertilizer water. Reduce fertilization to once a month in autumn, and stop fertilizing in summer.
