These 6 kinds of flowers change color every day, a different look every day!

Three Drunk Hibiscus

"The drunken lotus, white in the morning, pink in the afternoon, bright red in the evening, is the best." - "Guang Qunfangpu"

The Three-Drunk Hibiscus is also known as Hibiscus mutabilis, a type of mallow. It blooms white in the morning, turns pink at noon, and turns deep red in the evening, so people gave it this poetic name - Three-Drunk Hibiscus.

1. Causes of discoloration

The reason why the three-drunk hibiscus changes color is that the anthocyanins and acids in the petals change concentration with the temperature. The temperature fluctuations within a day can affect the color of the flower.

2. Maintenance points

Habits: likes sunshine and humidity, slightly tolerant of cold and shade

Soil: Sandy soil mixed with garden soil, or planted in the yard or riverside

Water: Water once every 2-3 days, and it can be ignored if planted in the ground

Fertilization: Apply organic fertilizer in early winter and spring

Hydrangea

I believe everyone is familiar with the color change of hydrangeas. After buying them and keeping them for a few days, they may change color. The same plant can also produce different colored balls.

1. Causes of discoloration

Common hydrangeas come in three colors: white, red, and blue. In addition to the different colors of different varieties, the acidity and alkalinity of the soil can also determine the color. Generally speaking, acid is blue and alkaline is red.

White hydrangeas bloom green at first, then turn white. If the soil is acidic, they appear blue, and if the soil is alkaline, they turn red.

For red varieties, if the soil is acidic, the color turns blue, and if the soil is alkaline, the red tone becomes stronger.

For blue varieties, the flowers with acidic soil will have a darker blue hue, while those with alkaline soil will turn to purple and then pink.

Please note that the flowers on the same hydrangea have different colors because they bloom at different times.

2. Maintenance points

Habit: likes mild and semi-shady, afraid of sun and waterlogging

Soil: Sandy soil mixed with garden soil

Water: Water once every 2-3 days

Wintering: Can winter south of the Yangtze River, need to keep warm north of it

3. Artificial color change

The color can be changed during the growth period, before the first few buds appear. It mainly depends on adjusting the aluminum ions in the soil to control the pH, mainly to change blue and red.

Blue flowers: a. Aluminum sulfate solution (aluminum sulfate and water = 3:1000) is enough for 3 times a month; b. Solid aluminum powder, 2-3g each time, sprinkled in the potting soil, 2 times a month is OK

Red flowers: If you want red flowers, it is relatively simple. You can sprinkle slaked lime in the pot soil 2-3 times, 2-3g each time. Be careful not to sprinkle it on the flowers, as they may be burned.

Water Lily

The water lily changes color, it really is light makeup or heavy makeup, it is always suitable, no matter how much you look at it, you can't get enough of it~

1. Causes of discoloration

The color change of water lilies is mostly due to their own reasons. From the beginning of flowering to the end of flowering, the concentration of anthocyanins and acids in the petals changes, and the color also changes accordingly.

2. Maintenance points

Flower pot: Choose a pot with a large opening and wide edges

Soil: Clay or Yangmingshan soil is suitable for the bottom

Fertilization: Add root fertilizer twice a month in spring and summer, stop in autumn and winter

Pruning: Prune flowers when they are bent and half-withered to ensure re-blooming

Rose

Many flower lovers know that roses change color, but do you know why they change color? There are many reasons.

1. Causes of discoloration

Light: Rose color changes are mostly due to light. Yellow roses will turn red under strong light, and green roses will gradually turn white or have pink edges.

Varieties: Some roses, such as Spectrum, Double Happiness, and Rainbow Rose, naturally change color.

pH: The pH absorbed by the corolla during flowering is inconsistent, resulting in color change due to asynchronous flowering time.

Grafting: Grafting roses of different colors and varieties together will produce different flowers.

2. Maintenance points

Habits: likes light and fertilizer, and is prone to insect diseases

Soil: nutrient soil, leaf humus mixed garden soil

Fertilization: 1-2 times a month, manure, fruit peels, shells can be used

Pruning: Prune weak branches and blind branches in early spring and after flowering.

Five-color plum

Lantana camara, also known as Lantana, is an evergreen shrub that blooms almost all year round, with each flower having three or four colors.

1. Causes of discoloration

The color changes of the five-color plum are a result of natural evolution, mainly to attract small insects for pollination and fertilization.

2. Maintenance points

Habits: likes warm and humid weather

Soil: Ordinary garden soil

Smell: It smells a bit bad, but it can repel mosquitoes

Wintering: Can survive the winter in the south, but needs to keep warm in the north

Two-color jasmine

Bicolor jasmine is also called mandarin duck jasmine because it usually blooms in two colors.

1. Causes of discoloration

The flowers are dark purple when they bloom. After two or three days, under the influence of light, temperature and other factors, the pigment gradually disappears and turns into pure white. Because the flowering period is different, the flowers of the same plant have different colors.

2. Maintenance points

Habits: likes warm and humid environment, afraid of waterlogging, water only when the soil is dry

Soil: nutrient soil mixed with sand and garden soil

Light: Light-loving, more than 4 hours of light per day

Wintering: Can survive the winter in the south, but needs to keep warm in the north

It seems that it is not only animals that can change their faces

Even flowers will change their "faces" for you
