A complete guide to propagate Globe amaranth!

Seed propagation

Seeding is the most commonly used method of propagation for Globe amaranth, and it is also the simplest method. Please continue reading below for the specific operation method. Friends who are patient in collecting seeds can collect some relatively strong and full seeds in September of the previous year, which is the season when the seeds mature in autumn; impatient flower lovers can buy them directly, which is faster.

sowing

The spring and summer seasons every year, around April and May, are the most suitable climate for breeding Globe amaranth. Sow an appropriate amount of Globe amaranth seeds evenly in a relatively larger soil environment. Flower lovers who have the conditions can directly open up a piece of space in the courtyard to sow the seeds. I believe everyone is already familiar with the basic soil loosening and sowing methods, so I will not go into details here.

Remember to disinfect and mix the seeds before burying them in the soil. This can effectively increase the germination rate. In this way, they can be transplanted when they grow to a certain height in June.

Cutting propagation method

Summer is the most vigorous season for the growth of Globe amaranth, and it is also the most suitable season for cuttings. Cut some of the stronger branches on the plant to a length of about 5 cm, remove the leaves from the parts of the branches that are to be inserted into the soil, and then insert the branches directly into the soil. An average temperature of around 20 degrees is most conducive to the germination and growth of the roots. In about three weeks, the roots will grow to a length that can be transplanted into a pot, and a new Globe amaranth is born.
