Honeysuckle cultivation methods and precautions

Honeysuckle cultivation methods and precautions

1. Soil

To choose soil suitable for the growth of honeysuckle, it is best to use fertile soil.

2. Fertilization

To fertilize it properly, you can use organic fertilizer or general chemical fertilizer. It is best to fertilize it in spring and autumn.

3. Lighting

It prefers sunlight, so keeping it in sufficient sunlight can result in more flowers. If there is insufficient sunlight, the leaves will be small and the flowers will be fewer. It is best planted in a sunny location.

4. Watering

It is best to use river water or rainwater to water the honeysuckle. Generally, tap water contains more chlorine. You can also dry it in the sun first and then use it for watering after the chlorine evaporates. Watering should be reduced appropriately in winter and increased appropriately in spring and autumn, especially in summer when the temperature is high, the amount of watering should be increased. To extend the flowering period, reduce watering during the flowering period.

5. Notes

It is easy to get diseases and pests when growing honeysuckle, the most common ones are leaf spot, powdery mildew, aphids, etc. Timely treatment measures should be taken after the diseases and pests are discovered, but do not spray pesticides a week before and after flowering, otherwise it is easy for the pesticides to remain in the flowers.
