Cultivation methods and precautions of Dracaena

Cultivation methods and precautions of Dracaena

1. Soil

Dracaena likes loose and well-breathed soil. Ceramic flower pots can be used, and the substrate can be vermiculite and perlite.

2. Lighting

Dracaena likes sunlight but is afraid of being overexposed. It likes a warm and humid environment. So just place it in a room that receives plenty of sunlight.

3. Temperature

The most suitable temperature is 20-28℃. The highest temperature in summer should not exceed 32℃, and the lowest temperature in winter should not be lower than 10℃. Lower temperatures will cause yellow-brown spots to appear on the tips of the leaves.

4. Watering

It has a relatively strong drought resistance. In order to prevent rot, you must not water it too much. Generally, watering it once every 10-15 days is sufficient, as long as the soil is kept slightly moist.

5. Notes

1. Repotting: Be careful when changing pots so as not to damage its roots, especially the main roots. When repotting, do not use just any soil. It is best to choose sandy soil with good air exhalation. Do not water it immediately after repotting. Place it in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Wait for 3-5 days for it to stabilize before watering it normally.

2. Repotting time: Generally, the plant needs to be repotted after 2-3 years of cultivation. The best time to repot is April. When repotting, choose a suitable pot according to its size.
