Cultivation methods and precautions of Clematis

Cultivation methods and precautions of Clematis

1. Soil:

Clematis prefers well-drained, loose, fertile alkaline soil.

2. Watering:

It is very afraid of waterlogging, so in order to avoid root rot, the amount of watering must be small, and good drainage measures must be taken during the rainy season to avoid root rot due to excessive water accumulation.

3. Lighting:

From autumn to next spring, you can place it in a sunny place without taking any shading measures. It needs to be shaded when the sunlight is strong in summer. Strong light will cause its leaves to turn yellow, which is not conducive to its growth and development.

4. Fertilization:

Clematis is not very strict about fertilization. It only needs to be fertilized every 15 days or so when it is growing vigorously.

5. Notes:

1. Pruning: There is no regular pattern for pruning. Generally, it will enter a dormant state in autumn and winter. It is best to prune it at this time. The seedlings can be cut off and relatively large branches can be left.

2. Support: You need to find a good support for it. You can attach the support according to your wishes, which will guide its growth trajectory.

3. Pests and diseases: Clematis is very afraid of pests and diseases. Once discovered, they must be removed in time and placed in a ventilated location. Do not place it in a closed environment, and trim off the diseased leaves or withered parts, and then use pesticides to eliminate pests and diseases to avoid further infection.
