How to raise baby's breath

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: To grow baby's breath, you need loose, breathable, high-nutrient, weakly alkaline sandy loam. Specifically, you can mix leaf mold, sandy soil, nutrient soil, and garden soil in a ratio of 3:2:3:2.

2. Watering: Keep the soil in the pot moist at ordinary times, and water it in time once the soil starts to dry out.

3. Temperature: Normally, the temperature should be maintained between 10-25℃, and in winter, the temperature should be maintained between 5-12℃.

4. Light: Baby's breath is slightly shade-tolerant and cannot grow in a dark environment for a long time. It needs to be given sufficient sunlight to grow better.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Seed propagation: Baby's breath can be sown in early spring or autumn. After sowing the seeds, you need to provide it with a temperature of 10-25℃ and a relatively humid environment.

2. Propagation by cuttings: Baby's breath can be propagated by cuttings in spring. For cuttings, choose hard branches, cut them to 10-15cm, then insert them into the soil, water them, and control the temperature at around 15℃ and the humidity at above 95%. It won't take long for them to take root.

3. Common pests and diseases

1. Leaf spot disease. After discovery, the diseased leaves should be removed and destroyed in time, and sprayed with thiophanate-methyl or mancozeb.

2. Scale insects. It can be sprayed with omethoate solution.
