The difference between early blooming violets and Viola yedoensis

The difference between early blooming violets and Viola yedoensis

1. The flowering periods of the two are different

The former blooms earlier than the latter, generally between April and June, but the flowering period is shorter; while the latter blooms later, but can basically last for a long time, generally starting after the former's flowering period ends, and opening later.

2. Different colors

The former has flowers that are light purple and not bright in color, while the latter has flowers that are dark purple, like lavender.

3. The shapes of the sepal appendages are different (main basis for judgment)

The sepals of the former are slightly serrated; while those of the latter are mostly smooth or trapezoidal. These two factors can be used to roughly determine which of the two plants it is, and are also one of the most important criteria for judgment.

4. Different leaves

The leaves of the former are wider and longer; the leaves of the latter are thin and narrow. This is the most intuitive way to judge.

5. Different effects

The main effects of the former are clearing away heat, detoxifying and reducing inflammation. If it is crushed and attached to the skin surface, it can also remove scars and promote tissue regeneration. The main effects of the latter are detoxification (snake venom), anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory, and traumatic injuries, and it also has anti-cancer effects.

6. Different growth environments

The first type of plant adapts to a semi-shaded living environment, but can also grow under sunlight and has strong vitality; while the second type of plant mainly grows in sunny places such as hillsides and grasslands.

Although there are many differences between the two, they are equally important in contributing to human life. Their functions and effects are irreplaceable for us humans.
