Hawaiian coconut cultivation methods and precautions

Hawaiian coconut cultivation methods and precautions

1. Breeding methods

1. Matrix

It generally prefers to grow in loose and fertile soil, so when choosing soil, it must meet this requirement. We can use some humus soil, garden soil, etc., mix them together, and then add some organic fertilizer. After mixing evenly, it can be used as a culture medium.

2. Temperature

People who know it must know that it prefers to grow in warm places, and the most suitable temperature is generally 20 degrees. In winter, the temperature must be kept above 10 degrees to avoid affecting growth. Of course, it is somewhat cold-resistant, but it can only tolerate short periods of low temperatures of 0 degrees. So if you want it to survive the winter smoothly, it is best to adjust the maintenance temperature to above 10 degrees. If this is not possible, at least maintain it above 5 degrees.

3. Lighting

It grows better in a semi-shady environment and can be grown in a darker place indoors for 1 to 2 months without affecting the plant. Therefore, during normal lighting, it cannot be exposed to direct strong light, otherwise it will affect the leaves.

4. Watering

It is more suitable for a humid environment, especially during its growing period, it must be given enough water to keep the soil in the pot moist. Although it likes moisture, it cannot be too wet, otherwise its roots will rot. Then in winter, you should control watering and keep the soil in the pot dry, but not too dry, otherwise the leaves will become dull.

5. Fertilization

When it comes to its growing season, we can apply nitrogen fertilizer to it once a month, and then in September, we need to stop applying nitrogen fertilizer and just add phosphorus fertilizer once or twice to help it survive the winter smoothly. Then stop applying any fertilizers in the winter.

2. Precautions

There are also some things to pay attention to when raising it. For example, when the temperature is high, it will be prone to some diseases and pests, which will in turn affect the plant and prevent it from growing normally. Therefore, we need to use some methods to prevent and control it so that it can grow healthily.
