How to grow foxtail algae

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: Foxtail algae grows best in alkaline and loose soil. Try not to use acidic soil.

2. Watering: It likes moisture, so water it reasonably and keep the soil moist. It is not cold-resistant, so reduce watering in winter to avoid frostbite due to the cold weather.

3. Light: Plenty of sunlight will be more conducive to the growth of foxtail algae. It will grow more luxuriantly with sufficient light in summer, and it must receive sufficient light in winter.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Sowing method: Store the seeds of foxtail algae until the spring of next year. The temperature suitable for seed germination is about 20-25℃. It can germinate in a dark or well-lit environment. The seedlings can float on the water surface and bloom generally in August-September.

2. Cutting method: It can be carried out from April to August. Selecting 7-9 cm long stem tips for cuttings can make it grow faster. You can also use the division method. It must be cultivated in fresh water and the planting must have fluidity.
