Flowering period of pansy

Flowering period of pansy

1. Flowering period of Pansy

The flowering period of pansy is closely related to the sowing time, and it will bloom two or three months after sowing. Because the temperature suitable for pansy seeds to germinate is 15℃-20℃, it is usually chosen to be sown in early spring so that you can enjoy the beauty of pansy flowers in summer. The temperature in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in autumn is just right. In these areas, sowing can be carried out in mid-to-late September, and the landscape will be formed by December. When planted in northern regions, it is generally sown and seedled in the greenhouse in January and February, and will bloom around March and April. In the hot summer, if there is equipment that can lower the temperature, raising seedlings in summer and flowering in autumn is also a good choice.

2. Maintenance of Pansy during Flowering Period

The growing period of the pansy is generally 3-4 months. Compared with the pansy, its development period is relatively short, about 2 weeks. However, pansies are very heat-resistant, and generally when there is sufficient sunlight, the flowering period of pansies will be extended. During the flowering period of pansy, you can give it appropriate fertilizer. Pansy is relatively sensitive to the concentration of fertilizer, and the concentration is generally not higher than 150ppm. In addition to N fertilizer, K fertilizer can also be added. During the flowering period, the liquid fertilizer described above can generally be applied once a week. Pinching before flowering and during the growing season can promote the growth of side branches, increase the number of flowers per plant, and extend the flowering period.

3. Prevention and control of diseases and insect pests

During the cultivation process of pansies, you may encounter pests such as aphids, thrips, and red spiders. During the cultivation process, attention should be paid to improving the cleanliness of the growth environment to avoid infection by the above-mentioned pests. Common diseases during the cultivation process include leaf ring disease, downy mildew, powdery mildew, black root rot, etc. Reasonable watering and fertilization management can promote rapid growth of plants. Generally speaking, it is recommended to water in the morning to avoid excessive moisture on the leaves at night. If the pH value of the soil is not appropriate, it will easily lead to black root rot. The appropriate soil pH value can greatly reduce the probability of intrusion by the above diseases.
