1. Differences in rootsBoth belong to the Ranunculaceae family. Although they both have woody stems and fleshy roots and grow in a climbing manner, there are obvious differences in the shape and color of their roots. First, the color is different. The yellow-brown roots belong to Clematis, while the roots of Rotorula are reddish-brown. Secondly, in terms of shape, the roots of Clematis are slender and have many fibrous roots, while the roots of Rotorula are very thick and short, and have very few fibrous roots. 2. Different flowering characteristicsFor clematis seedlings grown in pots, customers cannot directly see the bare roots, so they can distinguish whether it is a clematis or not by observing its flowering characteristics. Clematis has a large number of flowers, a long flowering period, and very bright and rich colors. In comparison, Clematis is highly adaptable, commonly known as wild, and very cold-resistant. It does not require much care and can survive the winter in the cold outdoors. Its flower colors are fewer than those of Clematis, only white or yellow, and only one flower blooms on a vine, and the number of flowers is very small. Therefore, the one with rich colors is the authentic Clematis. 3. Different flowering positionsIn addition to the differences in roots and flower colors, the third method is to observe the flowering positions of the Rotundus and Clematis respectively. The flowers of Clematis grow in the axils of leaves, while the pedicels of Clematis are very straight and thick, and the flowers grow at the top of the branches, usually as a solitary flower. If the clematis you purchased has flowers in each leaf axil, it is a genuine clematis. In fact, you can also distinguish between Clematis and Rotoria by observing the morphological characteristics of the leaves, but this method of observation is relatively difficult if you are not an experienced fan. Once we master the above three methods, we can make a correct judgment on whether the clematis is genuine. |
