How to grow pea seedlings without soil at home

Pea sprouts are sprout vegetables , also known as "dragon beard vegetables", which are pollution-free green food. It has a delicate texture, mellow aroma and rich nutrition. It is a high-end and high-quality fresh vegetable. Pea seedlings can be grown in soilless cultivation all year round as long as the appropriate temperature and humidity are maintained. Here we will talk about the home soilless cultivation method of pea seedlings.

1. Home soilless cultivation method of pea seedlings

1. Soak the beans until the roots are visible. Generally soak for 24 hours.

2. It is better to choose a sprout pot with a breathable bottom and no water accumulation. Place non-woven wet wipes on the bottom. Rinse the wet wipes before use, wring them out and place them on the bottom of the basin. Note that three layers are required. After laying the beans, rinse them with small amounts of water under the tap to keep the wet wipes moist. You can also lay the beans on the surface with a clean wet paper towel without wringing it dry. Lay the beans one by one, making sure there is no overlap.

3. Control the indoor temperature at around 20℃ for rapid growth.

4. Pea seedlings can grow well under natural light, and provide appropriate light during planting.

5. Pea seedlings should be harvested when they grow to about 10 cm. The first batch can also be harvested when it grows to about 13 cm. When harvesting, cut close to the roots. If the temperature is suitable, new shoots will grow in 2-3 days.

2. Large-scale field planting method of pea seedlings

1. Pea seedlings can be planted in spring, autumn and winter. They can be sown in spring from March to April and harvested in May to June.

2. Common pea seedlings include Shanghai pea seedlings, Shangnong whiskerless pea seedlings, Sichuan whiskerless pea tips No. 1, etc. Sichuan whiskerless peas have the shortest planting time and are semi-climbing. They can be harvested 20 days after sowing and can be harvested 9-10 times in a row, with each yield of 1,000 kilograms per mu.

3. The yield of pea seedlings mainly depends on the number of seedlings. About 15 kg of seeds are used per mu. Apply base fertilizer before sowing. You can use 1,500 kg of farmyard manure, 100 kg of wood ash, and 25 kg of superphosphate for fertilization. After intensive cultivation, arrange it into a 1.3-meter-wide flat bed, and then sow directly with a row spacing of 10-15 cm. After sowing, cover with 1-2 cm of thin soil. Sow in early spring, and the seedlings will emerge in about 7 days. Cover with 2-3 cm of soil 1-2 days after emergence. Apply fertilizer and water in time during the seedling stage to keep the soil appropriately moist, and weed in time before closing the rows.

4. When the pea seedlings grow two true leaves, apply quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer in time. After that, apply it once every time you harvest. You can use 4 kg of urea diluted with water to make 0.3% fertilizer , apply fertilizer 4-5 times, and at the same time apply 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate. After fertilization, it can prevent and control yellow top disease, powdery mildew, aphids, leaf miners, etc. Harvest all the seeds 20-30 days after sowing when the seedlings are 8-9 cm tall, dig up the roots, tie them up, cut off the roots at the base of the stems, wash them and they are ready for sale. It can be harvested multiple times, and the tender shoots can be picked when the seedlings are 15-20 cm tall and have 7-8 true leaves. When the stipules have not opened, harvest the tender tips of the upper compound leaves, along with 1-2 unopened young leaves. Harvest once every 10 days or so, and you can harvest 1000-1500 kg each time.
