The difference between the beauty tree and the kapok tree

The difference between the beauty tree and the kapok tree

The difference in height:

The growth height of the beauty tree is between 8 meters and 15 meters, while the kapok tree can grow up to 25 meters.

The difference in tree shape and color:

Beauty tree: The bark of the tree is green in the growth stage, and the bark of the tree is brown-green or dark green after it grows up. The shape of the trunk is thick at the top and thin at the bottom, a bit like the shape of a wine bottle;

Kapok tree: The bark of its trunk remains grayish white, but in the seedling stage, thicker thorns will grow on the bark of the trunk.

The difference between leaves:

There are certain differences in the shapes and sizes of their leaves. The leaves of the beauty tree are between 12 cm and 14 cm long and are oval in shape; while the leaves of the kapok tree are between 10 cm and 16 cm long and 3.5 cm to 5.5 cm wide and are oblong in shape.

The difference between flowers:

The beauty tree blooms first and then grows leaves. The flowering period starts in early November and can last for 2 to 3 months, but December is the best time to appreciate the flowers. At this time, no leaves grow, which greatly increases its ornamental value. The upper part of the flower is light pink and the lower part is close to white.

The flowering period of the kapok tree is from March to April. The flowers are red, but sometimes they can also be orange-red. The blooming kapok trees are also very spectacular.

The difference in function:

They are also highly ornamental and can be planted in courtyards or gardens. But the kapok tree can also be used as a medicinal material.
