Reasons why okra does not bloom and bear fruit

Reasons why okra does not bloom and bear fruit

1. Excessive water

The reason why okra does not bloom and bear fruit is usually because of too much water. If you water it too much each time, the roots cannot absorb moisture from the soil. Over time, the roots will rot and it will be difficult to form flower buds, so it will not bloom and bear fruit. If this is the case, you need to reduce the amount of watering, but remember not to use too much.

3. The temperature is too low

The temperature of the breeding environment is also critical and will affect the flowering and fruiting of the plants. Generally, when the temperature during maintenance is lower than 17℃, the respiratory capacity of the plant will be greatly reduced. When its growth slows down, flower bud differentiation will be delayed for a long time and will be difficult to form. Therefore, the temperature should be appropriately raised. If it is raised at home, it can be placed indoors. If it is planted in the ground, reasonable cold-proof measures should be taken.

3. Lack of nutrition

When okra is about to bloom, it needs a relatively large amount of fertilizer. If you forget to fertilize it or use inappropriate fertilizer, it will be difficult for it to bloom and bear fruit. It needs sufficient fertilizer during the flowering and fruiting period. It is best to apply appropriate fertilizer before flowering, and add appropriate amounts of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.
