Four stages of cineraria care

Four stages of cineraria care

Cineraria seedling stage

When growing cineraria, it is generally sown in a ventilated and cool environment. The soil must have good drainage. It can also be grown in potted plants so that it can grow well. During the seedling stage of Cineraria, it needs careful care, attention to keeping warm and taking shade measures. When applying fertilizer, you should apply a thin layer of fertilizer once a week after planting. The main thing is to apply fertilizer thinly and frequently, and to meet the needs of multiple elements.

Bud stage of Cineraria

In the growth process of Cineraria, the bud stage is very important. Generally, many main branches will grow on the cineraria plant, and a flower bud will form on each branch. The main branch will also grow several side branches, and flower buds can also grow on the side branches. Because many flower buds will grow on the whole plant of Cineraria, in order to make it bloom better, it is necessary to prune and trim the flower buds in time. Generally, 15 to 30 main branches are enough, and the rest of the main branches and side branches should be removed.

Flowering period of Cineraria

When growing cineraria, when it comes to the critical period of flowering, it is necessary to remove the tongue flowers on the edge of the cineraria and remove the suckers. Removing the edge tongue flowers should be done in the morning, just pick off the opened flowers. At the same time, pay attention to whether there are suckers and pick them off in time.

Cineraria seed maturity

After the cineraria blooms, it enters the seed growth and maturation period. At this time, the pot of the cineraria will slowly crack, the calyx will fall off, and the seeds will begin to mature slowly. Basically, the seed coat turns black. And when the flocs are slowly squeezed out, it means that the seeds are fully mature and can be harvested. Be careful not to leave it too late so that the seeds don't blow away. When collecting seeds, they should be harvested according to variety and color. After harvesting, they should be dried in the sun and then stored in a cool and dry place.
