Flowering period of red

The flowers of the Salvia officinalis are bright red, and it is a common flower for festivals. It has a long viewing period and usually blooms from summer to autumn. Under natural conditions, the flowering period of Salvia miltiorrhiza is from May to November, but if it is reasonably controlled during the cultivation period, Salvia miltiorrhiza can bloom all year round.

Flowering period control of Salvia splendens

When controlling the flowering period of impatiens, the most commonly used methods are pinching and short-day treatment, as well as controlling the sowing time.

Pinching can be done throughout the growth of the impatiens. Generally, pinching can be done when the plant is 20 cm tall to promote branching. Pinching can be done a second time after the branches have grown for a period of time to make the plant short and strong, with luxuriant branches and leaves. If pinching is done once in late August, it can bloom during the National Day.

Short-day control can promote the differentiation of flower buds of impatiens. If sowing is carried out early in spring, the daylight hours are short, which is more beneficial to growth. However, if the planting time is relatively late, short-day treatment is required, specifically, shading in the morning and evening. About 8 hours of sunshine a day can make it bloom faster.

Controlling the sowing date of impatiens can control the time of flowering. If it is sown in late August and potted in November, it can bloom on May 1st if the light and temperature are suitable. If you sow the seeds in spring and pinch them several times, they will bloom during National Day.

In addition, you can make the salvia bloom all year round. If all the inflorescences of the salvia are picked off, the subsequent flowers will bloom in more than 25 days. Pay attention to strengthening water and fertilizer management, and provide sufficient light and temperature.

If you can spray 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate on the leaves, the flowers will be brighter.
