How to care for newly bought lotus

How to care for newly bought lotus

1. How to care for the lotus you just bought

When you first buy the lotus, you first need to give it enough water. You can use river water or purified water, but not tap water directly. Then provide it with a relatively cool and humid environment for it to acclimate. After it resumes normal growth, give it sufficient light and normal water and fertilizer.

2. Specific breeding methods

1. Light: It is a long-day plant, but when it is first bought, it has not yet adapted to the new environment, so it needs to be placed in a cool and humid place for a period of time. After it slowly adapts to the new environment, it can be gradually given light and the sunlight time should be extended. The daily light duration should not be less than 4 hours.

2. Temperature: It grows best in a warm environment. When you first buy it, you can place it in an environment with a temperature of about 20℃, which will help it adapt to the new environment as quickly as possible. Don't leave it in a low temperature environment for a long time. Once the roots are frozen, it will be more difficult to recover.

3. Watering: It is an aquatic plant and has a relatively large demand for water. When you first buy it, you need to give it enough water to prevent it from dehydration. You can use river water or purified water for watering, but not tap water, to avoid damaging its root system and affecting its recovery.

4. Fertilization: It likes fertilizer very much. If it has not recovered its normal growth rate when it is just bought, you need to stop fertilizing. After it slowly resumes growth, you can apply cake fertilizer or compound fertilizer to it once every 15-20 days. Fertilization needs to be applied thinly and frequently. Excessive fertilizer will burn the seedlings and affect its normal growth.
