How to save seeds of Cineraria

Cineraria seeds introduction

Cineraria has seeds. Cineraria seeds usually mature after its flowering period, and there is no uniform date. Cineraria seeds are very small and black in color, similar to black sesame seeds, but smaller than sesame seeds.

How to save seeds of Cineraria

The seeds of Cineraria are in the top flower buds. If you want to get the seeds, you have to wait for the Cineraria to bloom. When it blooms, it also needs someone to pollinate. After pollination is completed, you can wait for the Cineraria to bloom and wither.

Cineraria has seeds. If you want to save seeds, you can place it outdoors during the flowering period so that insects can pollinate it, which will greatly increase the chance of seed formation. If you grow it indoors, artificial pollination is required, but the chance of seed formation will be lower.

Cineraria seed propagation

Cineraria seeds can be planted directly. There is no fixed sowing time for this type of plant. It usually takes about eight months to bloom. The sowing time can be calculated based on the period when you want to watch it. Of course, the flowering time varies depending on the variety. For example, the hybrid dwarf variety can bloom in four months, which is a relatively short time.

How to plant Cineraria seeds

1. Mix the seeds with a small amount of fine sand and sow them in a shallow basin, making sure to spread them evenly.

2. Cover with a layer of fine soil after sowing to make the seeds invisible. Do not use a watering can to spray water after sowing to avoid exposing the seeds.

3. Cover the pot with glass to keep it moist, but leave a small gap on one side for ventilation. Then place the seed pot under a shade shed, or on the shady side of a cold bed or cold room, paying attention to ventilation and maintaining a low temperature.
4. After the seedlings emerge, gradually remove the shade and move away the glass to allow the seedlings to gradually receive sunlight, but shade must be provided at noon. Full light can be provided after two weeks, and then management can be carried out properly.
