How to raise a general stick

Growth habit

The general's stick, also known as the general column, is a species of the genus Cylindrica in the Cactaceae family. Peru and Argentina are its native places. Semi-shade, avoid dampness. It likes a sunny, dry and warm growing environment and is relatively drought-resistant. The suitable growth temperature is approximately between 18-30℃. The room temperature needs to be kept above 5℃ in winter. When the temperature is too low, the leaves will turn slightly red.

Maintenance Tips

The general stick is easy to grow, but it grows slowly, and its growing season is in spring and autumn. Pay attention to ventilation and prevent exposure to the sun in summer, and do a good job of insulation in winter. Some plants may bloom in winter.

illumination

Place it in a warm and ventilated environment for growth and provide sufficient light. Prevent it from being exposed to the sun in summer and provide appropriate sunshade.

Watering

It is required to alternate between dry and wet areas. Avoid uneven or excessive watering, otherwise it may cause leaves to fall off and roots to rot. Be sure to water thoroughly, and wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry before watering a second time.

fertilizer

In the early growth stage of the general stick, 5 to 10 granular fertilizers can be applied, and the fertilization frequency should be about once every 7 to 10 days.

Pot soil

The soil is suitable for planting with well-drained and well-ventilated peat soil mixed with small gravel.

.

toxicity
