Difference Between Gerbera and Daisy

Gerbera and daisy are both perennial herbs in the Asteraceae family.

The biggest difference between gerberas and daisies is the size of the flowers. The flowers of gerbera are relatively large, with a diameter of up to 10 cm, and there is only one flower on each branch of the gerbera plant. Gerbera comes in a variety of colors, including red, yellow, orange, pink, etc.

Daisy flowers are relatively small, with more branches and relatively fewer colors, mainly white.

Basically, gerberas can be used as the main flowers, while daisies are mostly used as supporting flowers.

The difference between gerbera and barbata

Gerbera is a perennial herb of the Asteraceae family, while Scutellaria barbata is an annual or perennial herb of the Portulacaceae family.

The difference between African daisy and Scutellaria barbata is quite obvious. The plant of African daisy is much taller than that of Scutellaria barbata, and the shapes of their leaves are also very different. The leaves of gerbera are large and shallowly pinnately lobed, while the leaves of barbata are slender cylindrical. The flowers of gerbera are large, with tongue-shaped petals, while the flowers of barbata are smaller, with either single or double petals, and the petals are irregularly heart-shaped.

Difference Between Gerbera and Sunflower

There is a big difference between gerbera and sunflower in their plant shape. The height of gerbera is 30-45cm, while that of sunflower is over one meter. The sizes of gerbera and sunflower are also different. The diameter of sunflower can reach 30cm, which is much larger than gerbera. Secondly, there is a large disk in the middle of the sunflower flower, which contains sunflower seeds.
