The difference between swell coral and stick tree

The same place

Both are poisonous

Both the swell coral and the stick tree belong to the genus Euphorbia in the Euphorbiaceae family. Most of these plants are poisonous. Like the inflated coral, when the stem of the stick tree is broken, white latex will flow out. It is poisonous and must not be eaten. In foreign countries, people also call the bachelor tree the milk tree.

The two are similar in appearance

Young coniferous trees have green branches like those of the coral reef, which look like sausages or candles and have many branches. The coniferous trees in gardens and horticulture will grow some small leaves, and the coral reefs will also grow some small sparrow-tongue-shaped leaves on their branches.

The difference between the two

Characteristics of swell coral

The succulent plant will undergo succulent fasciitis, which is a common deformation among succulents. In other words, the top growth points are connected and grow uncontrollably, forming a cockscomb-like structure. After the coral is variegated, it has more ornamental value than the original single coral, with various shapes and forms, like a green Ganoderma lucidum emerging from the ground. There is the beauty of "mountains appear as front views and peaks as side views; they look different from different distances and heights". The leaves of the coral will fall off early, leaving raised black "scars", which is one of its very distinctive characteristics.

Characteristics of the Bachelor Tree

The trunk of the bachelor tree is shaped like a thin stick. It is green when young and light gray or gray when old. It has many branches and discontinuous vertical lines formed by white spots on the surface. It feels slightly rough to the touch. Old branches will have obvious longitudinal ridges. The leaves are small, scattered on the branches, and fall off early, leaving inconspicuous black scars. Old bachelor trees can grow like big trees, up to 6 meters high. They grow slowly but are vigorous and strong.
