What to do if hydrangea leaves turn black

What to do if hydrangea leaves turn black

1. Reduce light

Reason: Hydrangeas need sufficient light during their growth stage, but if they are exposed to strong sunlight in the summer, the plants will not be able to withstand it, causing the leaves to turn black and burn.

Measures: Provide shade in time in summer and avoid exposing the plant to the scorching sun. Once exposed to strong light, move it to a semi-shaded place for maintenance in time, and then spray an appropriate amount of water on the leaves to promote the plant's recovery.

2. Reduce moisture

Reason: Hydrangeas need water, but if you don’t pay attention to watering during growth, it may cause water accumulation, making it difficult for the roots to breathe normally, causing a feeling of suffocation and causing the leaves to turn black.

Measures: Loosen the soil in time to promote water drainage, place it in a ventilated place for maintenance, and accelerate the evaporation of water.

3. Reduce fertilizer

Reason: Fertilization is also an important point. If too much fertilizer is applied or the concentration is too high, it will cause the roots to rot and eventually cause the leaves to turn black.

Measures: If you find that too much water has been applied, you can immediately add water to dilute it, which can promote water outflow.

4. Spraying treatment

Reason: Pests and diseases are inevitable during growth. If infected with leaf spot, rust, etc., the leaves will turn black.

Measures: Cut off the diseased leaves and then spray the medicine for treatment in time.
