Huang Weng likes a warm and sunny environment. It is cold-resistant and can also tolerate partial shade. During the growth period of the yellow gentian, sufficient light must be ensured to make the golden thorns on the ball bright and colorful. It should be noted that when there is strong sunlight in the summer, shade is needed to avoid burning the ball of the yellow thorn plant. However, the shading time should not be too long, otherwise the color of the thorns will fade. The suitable temperature for growth is maintained between 15℃ and 25℃. It can withstand temperatures below 0℃ in winter, but in order for the yellow amaranth to grow better, the wintering temperature needs to be kept at around 10℃, not lower than 5℃.

Watering and fertilizing

The yellow gentian has a high tolerance to drought and prefers a drier environment with relatively low air humidity. Watering should be moderate, generally once a week, and watering should be thorough. However, Huang Weng is afraid of water accumulation, so it is generally watered after the surface of the potting soil becomes dry. Ensure that the soil has a certain level of fertility and fertilize once a month during the growing season.

Huang Weng is often propagated by sowing, cuttings and grafting. Sowing is generally carried out in April and May, and cuttings and grafting are carried out in May and June, and reproduction is also relatively fast.

Pests and diseases and their control

Yellow taro often suffers from root rot and anthracnose. When these diseases occur, it is necessary to spray pesticides in time. Yellow gentian is sometimes also harmed by pests, such as red spider mites, which need to be sprayed and killed in time.
