How to reproduce Impatiens and how to deal with seeds

1. Seed propagation

1. Sowing time: As long as the temperature can be controlled, sowing can be done between March and September. However, it is still recommended to sow around April each year, when the climate and temperature are more suitable and more conducive to seed germination.

2. Seed processing: It is recommended to soak the seeds for germination before sowing. After soaking, the seeds can germinate better and faster. Just soak them in clean water for a day, and the seeds will absorb enough water and germinate faster.

3. Sowing: Its seeds are relatively small and can be easily dispersed by water. Therefore, before sowing, the seedbed should be thoroughly watered to keep it moist. Then sprinkle the seeds on the seedbed and cover it with a thin layer of soil.

4. Post-sowing maintenance: After sowing, place it in a cool place. If the temperature is suitable, the seedlings will emerge in about ten days. The seedlings can be transplanted when they have two or three true leaves.

2. Cutting propagation

Cutting method is also one of the common propagation methods of Impatiens. Specifically, choose branches about 6-8 cm long as cuttings, and make sure there are three nodes on them. The soil should be loose and breathable. Then just insert the cuttings directly. After planting, water it thoroughly and place it in a ventilated place. It will take about half a month to take root.
