Breeding methods and precautions of water hyacinth

How to cultivate water hyacinth

temperature

Water hyacinth likes a warm environment. The suitable water temperature for its growth is 18℃-23℃. It can also grow above 35℃, but it will stop growing if the temperature is below 10℃. It has a certain degree of cold resistance.

illumination

Water hyacinth has high requirements for light. The longer the light time, the more vigorous the photosynthesis.

Therefore, it must be maintained in 4-5 hours of light every day, especially in spring. If placed in a too shady place, the water hyacinth cannot see or transmit light, and its roots will rot and die.

Watering

It is necessary to maintain a relatively fixed air humidity, preferably between 70% and 80%. As the temperature gradually rises in spring, water evaporation begins to accelerate. It is necessary to spray water on the water hyacinth frequently to increase the air humidity.

Generally, change the water every two months, and the temperature difference of the water should not be too large.

Things to note when breeding water hyacinth

Pay attention to controlling the room temperature

During the breeding process of water hyacinth, it is necessary to maintain a suitable temperature. The temperature difference between day and night should not exceed 2℃. Water hyacinth can survive at 4℃-5℃, but it cannot be lower than 0℃. Generally, the water temperature is required to be above 5℃.

Ventilate frequently

You must insist on ventilation every day to keep the indoor air fresh. In late April, you can open all the doors and windows during the day and close them in the afternoon.

Pay attention to fertilization during seed preservation

In addition to applying sufficient base fertilizer before seed preservation, top dressing should also be applied frequently during the seed preservation period. It is best to use decomposed human manure and urine, diluted at a concentration of 1:20. When applying topdressing, do not sprinkle it directly on the seedlings.
