How to cultivate Anthurium

How to cultivate Anthurium

Anthurium growth conditions

Anthurium needs sufficient sunlight during maintenance and a suitable growth temperature. The temperature needs to be maintained between 19-25 degrees. In addition, the soil should be avoided from being dry or too wet during maintenance. At ordinary times, you need to pay attention to fertilizing and watering in appropriate amounts.

How to grow anthurium

1. Pruning: Newly purchased anthuriums are generally dense and need to be properly pruned to increase light transmittance and ensure normal growth.

2. Temperature: Anthurium prefers a warm environment and cannot tolerate low temperatures. The temperature needs to be controlled between 15-30 degrees to allow it to better adapt to the environment.

3. Watering: Anthurium likes moisture and is not drought-resistant. After you buy it home, you should water it frequently to keep the soil moist. Be careful to control the amount of water.

4. Light: Newly bought anthuriums need to be exposed to sufficient sunlight, but not strong light, as they can easily get burned.

Watering the candle

During the growing season, Anthurium needs more watering, preferably once every 2-3 days to keep its soil moist at all times. In winter, watering needs to be reduced, about once every 5-7 days.

Fertilizing Anthurium

Anthurium likes fertilizer very much, so you need to apply more flower fertilizer to it during the growing and flowering periods to provide it with nutrients. You can choose slow-release fertilizer because its fertilizer effect is long-lasting and gentle, which is very in line with the needs of the plant.

Anthurium pest control

Anthurium may develop root rot, and the root system will rot after the disease occurs. Use cymoxanil to disinfect the soil, and use carbendazim to irrigate the roots for prevention and control when the disease occurs.

How to grow anthurium at home

When propagating Anthurium, the cutting method is generally used. Healthy branches are cut from well-growing plants, inserted into the prepared cultivation medium, and placed in a cool place for cultivation. After about a week, small white spots will be seen on the cut, which means that the plant is growing roots. In about two weeks, the roots will grow out.

Anthurium maintenance precautions

During the growth process of Anthurium, yellow flowers and yellow leaves may appear and other undesirable phenomena may occur. At this time, they should be cut off in time to avoid affecting the viewing experience. In normal times, there should be sufficient sunlight and a good ventilation environment.
