The cultivation methods and precautions of Daxuesu

How to cultivate Daxuesu

Temperature and light

The suitable temperature for the growth of snowdrops is between 15 and 28 degrees Celsius. The winter temperature is not lower than 0 degrees Celsius, and it can generally survive the winter safely. When the summer temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius, it is necessary to pay attention to heatstroke prevention and cooling. The maximum temperature should not be higher than 35 degrees Celsius.

Since the growth environment of the snow plant is relatively hidden, the light requirements of the snow plant are not high and it prefers shade. The light should be slightly weaker during the growing period. With less light, the leaves will look more shiny.

Humidity requirements

The humidity requirements of Daxuesu mainly refer to two aspects, air humidity and potting soil humidity.

The humidity requirement of the potting soil of the snow orchid is similar to that of other orchids, which requires "mainly moist, but slightly dry".

The air humidity requirement of Daxuesu is higher than that of other orchid species, which should be maintained at 60%~80%. But it still needs a relatively good ventilation environment. When cultivating snow melon, special attention should be paid to handling this contradiction. It is necessary to create conditions to increase the air humidity and strengthen the ventilation of the cultivation environment.

Soil requirements

Snowberry grows natively in loam rich in humus. When planting snowberry, soil rich in humus is generally selected. The soil should be rich in humus and contain more organic matter such as tree bark, leaves, and peanut shells. The amount of these organic matter should be no less than 30%.

Fertilization

Snowdrops are relatively fond of fertilizer, so more fertilizer should be applied during the growth period. If the soil is fertile, the amount of fertilizer can be reduced and some foliar fertilizer can be applied. Plant-based fertilizers cannot be used directly and must be fermented before application.

Be careful to apply fertilizer frequently and in small amounts but not excessive amounts.

Precautions for breeding of Daxuesu

Reproduction method

Daxuesu is propagated by dividing and raising seedlings.

Other considerations

The growth of snow lily should follow its natural laws and not be quick to achieve success.

Maintain the humidity of the air and pay attention to the humidity of the potting soil.

The growing environment of Daxuesu is relatively humid, so attention should be paid to daily insecticide and sterilization to prevent and control diseases and pests.
