How to raise Huang Lijin

How to raise Huang Lijin

Color Change

What color is Huang Lijin must be a question that everyone is concerned about. In the early stages of its growth, Huang Lijin is pale white, as if the surface of the leaves is covered with a layer of white mist. As the temperature rises and water becomes sufficient, the leaves will gradually turn green and the edges of the leaves will emit red. The red, green and white colors alternate, which is extremely beautiful.

Soil requirements

Huang Lijin is a very easy-to-grow variety. It can be grown in ordinary garden soil. There is no obvious restriction on the proportion of the soil, and air permeability is the main consideration. However, the best soil mixing method is: peat mixed with coal slag, the ratio is 3:7. In this soil environment, Huangli grows better.

Watering

Water thoroughly only when the soil is completely dry. Do not water if the soil is not dry.

Spring and autumn are the growing seasons. Just provide enough water for the normal growth of the plants. Do not water too much. Watering in summer is special. It is not necessary to water thoroughly. Water 4 to 5 times a month and sprinkle water around the plants frequently to cool them down. In winter, when the temperature drops to 3℃, the soil in the pot needs to be kept dry, but the temperature should not be lower, otherwise it will be difficult to survive the winter.

When watering, be sure to water the plant in the soil as much as possible. When the weather is clear, wash the plant with clean water to ensure the leaves are clean.

Lighting requirements

Spring and autumn are the growing seasons for Huang Lijin, and it can be maintained in sunlight all day. However, it will have a slight dormancy in summer, and you can provide appropriate shade to avoid burning the leaves. In winter, you should get more sun exposure whenever there is light.

Reproduction method

Huang Lijin is mainly propagated by leaf cuttings and beheading, but the survival rate is relatively poor. Although leaf cuttings can produce a large number of seedlings, it is easy to revert to the original plant, and the cuttings will turn yellow.

So if you have a yellow lily plant at home, please cherish it and don't pull out its leaves or cut off its head casually.
