How to grow tulips

Garden Planting

Bulb treatment

Before planting tulips, the bulbs need to be treated with low temperatures. 5℃ or 9℃ is the most suitable. They can be planted directly.

Planting time

Tulips grown in the garden need to be planted in late October every year.

Garden planting methods

When planting tulips in the courtyard, the row spacing should be kept at about 14-16cm, the base fertilizer should be applied sufficiently, the covering soil depth of 4cm is most suitable, and the trench depth should be 15-20cm. Pay attention to watering in time after planting. During the germination and flowering period, apply thin fertilizer 2-4 times.

Potted Planting

Pot selection

Choose a flower pot with a diameter of 10-20cm in Zhongke. The basin is padded with rubble, bricks and stones as a drainage layer, and then fertile, well-drained soil is added. It should be noted here that new soil should be used. Old soil that has been used for planting is not edible to prevent infection by pests and diseases.

Potted Planting Method

Plant 1-2 bulbs in a 10-15cm diameter pot and 3-5 bulbs in an 18-20cm pot. The top of the bulb should be flush with the soil surface when planting.

After planting, place it in a cool place for observation for about 3-5 days, then water it thoroughly and place it outdoors for maintenance. When the surface of the potting soil is less than 1 cm, it is time to water.

From December to February of the following year, the entire flower pot should be covered with plastic film and placed in a ventilated and sunny place outdoors to maintain 5℃ so that the roots can grow. Water the potting soil thoroughly and do not water unless it is dry.
