How to plant Mimosa

How to plant Mimosa

Preparation before planting

Mimosa can be planted in spring and autumn. The seeds should be soaked in warm water at 35-40℃ for one day before planting. The potting soil should be mixed with leaf mold, garden soil and fine yellow sand. Add an appropriate amount of culture soil to the potting soil, flatten the surface of the potting soil, and then sprinkle water with a watering can. Wait until the water has completely penetrated before you can plant the seeds.

Planting method

For potted mimosa, you only need to plant 1-2 seeds, not too many. After planting, cover the soil about 4 cm deep to cover the seeds. After planting the seeds, wrap the entire pot with plastic film to keep the inside moist, and place the pot where it can receive scattered light from the balcony. When the soil in the pot is dry, you can water it by immersing the pot, and seed sprouts will appear in 1-2 weeks.

Budding culture

After germination, the plastic film should be removed to allow the seeds to receive light. When the seedlings are about 3cm tall, they can be transplanted and divided. The seedlings should be transplanted with soil, otherwise they will be difficult to keep alive. After watering the young sprouts, place them in a semi-shaded place, and move them to a place with sufficient light after the seedlings have finished acclimatizing.

Sowing precautions

soil

After sowing, the soil should be fertile and deep, and the soil should be kept moist.

Fertilization

Apply top dressing once a month and the amount of fertilizer can be appropriately reduced.

temperature

Mimosa seedlings are not cold-resistant, so they should not be planted in cold winters.
