Maintenance methods of potted hibiscus

Sunlight

The maintenance of the hibiscus is extremely important. It grows very fast, so it needs to be grown in a larger flowerpot. If the maintenance process is not managed properly, the leaves of the hibiscus will turn yellow and it will be beyond recovery.

Hibiscus is a flower that likes sunlight and warmth, so it has high requirements for sunlight. During the maintenance process, it must be moved constantly to prevent it from being restricted in one direction for a long time, causing growth deviations. The weather is too hot in the summer, so you need to place it on the balcony with sufficient diffuse light and keep it ventilated so that you can safely spend the hot summer.

Watering

In the summer, you must pay attention to watering during the maintenance of hibiscus, because water is the key to the hibiscus surviving the summer. When the weather is too hot and the temperature rises, it needs to be watered once a day. If you forget to water it, large patches of yellow leaves will fall.

When the temperature is too high due to direct sunlight, it must be watered once a day, and the water must be poured thoroughly. Hibiscus will easily wither and die if it lacks water. Stop watering it during its winter dormancy period.

Pot soil

The potting soil for hibiscus should be selected with good air permeability. The soil has good air permeability so that even if you water it a little more, the roots of the hibiscus will not rot. The soil should be a mixture of 50% horticultural soil and 50% nutrient soil, which has a very good effect.

Hibiscus grows very fast, so flower lovers need to buy slightly larger flower pots, such as clay pots with better air permeability. In late autumn, hibiscus needs to be pruned in time, and long branches, diseased branches, dead branches and broken branches should be shortened and removed. Excessive nutrients should be avoided, which will affect the growth and development in the following year.
