The difference between Chinese rose and rose

Look at the leaves

To distinguish between roses and roses, it is better to look at the leaves than the flowers.

The rose is composed of 3-5 long ovate leaflets. The tips of the leaves are relatively pointed, the edges are serrated, and both sides are hairless, relatively smooth and shiny. The rose has even more small leaves, which are made up of 7-9 leaflets. The leaf tips are relatively blunt, the serrations on the edges are also relatively blunt, the leaf surface is dull, and the back has a little white powder and soft hairs.

Rose and rose, but if you look at the leaves, the one with more pointed and brighter color is the rose.

Look at the flowers

Generally speaking, roses have larger flowers and richer colors. Common colors include red, yellow, purple, pink, white and green. Each color has different shades, so it is no exaggeration to describe them as colorful. Roses have smaller flowers and come in fewer colors, the most common of which are red (purple, pink) and white.

Look at the thorns

Some rose stems have thorns, while others have no thorns, and all are hairless. Its thorns are generally larger and loosely distributed, with about three or four on each node.

The rose stems are densely packed with thorns, which are relatively small and thin.

Smell the aroma

Both roses and roses have their own fragrance, but in comparison, the fragrance of roses is much stronger than that of roses. Roses are generally used to extract essential oils. Their fragrance is naturally strong and intoxicating, while the fragrance of roses is light.

Look at the flowering period

Another method is to judge whether it is a rose or a rose by the flowering period. Rose is also called monthly red, rose flower, and vinca rose. If properly cared for, rose will bloom every season and never fade. However, roses usually only bloom once in summer, and the flowering period is relatively short.
