How to grow pearl bush well

Timely division

Pearl bush has the characteristics of strong tillering ability and rapid growth, and is often propagated by division.

Plants that are more than 5 years old can grow into a very large crown. Before the buds sprout in early spring, the soil around the old plants can be dug up, and the root seedlings can be gradually separated from the mother plant and dug out. They can be moved into the nursery for cultivation, and they can be transplanted after 1 year.

Watering and fertilizing

Pearlwort is usually planted individually in gardens and courtyards. It does not require fertilizer, but it needs regular watering, especially during the drought in spring and summer to keep the soil moist.

Before winter, sufficient water should be applied to protect the plants over the winter in high-altitude cold areas, and other management measures are relatively extensive. The plant of Pearl Bush is plump, with elegant branches and leaves. What’s more, when there are no flowers left, it will produce elegant white flowers, and its flowering period is very long. In particular, it has the effect of killing or inhibiting many harmful bacteria and is suitable for planting in various types of gardens and green spaces.

Extensive management

Pearl bush is relatively hardy in nature and requires little management. It has no strict requirements for water and fertilizer. In addition, it is relatively shade-tolerant, has a beautiful tree shape, and a long flowering period. It can be widely used in landscaping and can be planted in the shade of buildings and under tall trees. It is a good shade-tolerant ornamental tree species.
