Is Euphorbia triangularis poisonous?

Is Euphorbia triangularis poisonous?

1. Reasons

The Chinese name of Euphorbia triangularis is Caiyunge. It is a plant of the genus Euphorbia in the Euphorbiaceae family native to Namibia, Africa. It is a tall, succulent species, the tallest of which can reach over 2-3 meters. The white juice that flows out when its leaves are damaged is poisonous and can cause allergies, redness, swelling or itching when in contact with the human body.

2. Breeding

Although the juice of the plant is poisonous, there is no danger during normal cultivation as long as the skin is not scratched or touched accidentally. To grow euphorbia, you need to choose sandy soil with good drainage and control the temperature at 20-28℃, which is suitable for its growth. Because it is not cold-resistant, the temperature must be kept above 5℃ during the winter. In addition, it loves light and is drought-resistant, so it needs to be given sufficient light and the potting soil can be kept relatively dry.
