What to do if freesia does not bloom

What to do if freesia does not bloom

1. Planting time

For this plant, it does not bloom in the first year of planting. Some people think that as long as the plant is well maintained, it will bloom in one or two years. In fact, this is unlikely to happen. Generally speaking, it takes three to four years from seedling emergence to flowering. If the time is not right, it is normal that the flowers will not bloom. Continue to take good care of it, and it will eventually bloom. Just be patient and wait.

2. Temperature

This is from the perspective of maintenance. This plant itself is a species that likes warmth, let alone when it is flowering. Therefore, suitable temperature is indispensable. Specifically, the most suitable temperature range is fifteen to twenty-five degrees. Well, if it doesn't bloom, we can consider whether it's because of the temperature. If so, then just adjust the temperature.

3. Light

This aspect also refers to its maintenance. We all know that if we want the plants to bloom, then appropriate light must be guaranteed. Moreover, this plant itself likes warm light very much. Therefore, if it has not bloomed for a long time, you can observe its growth status to see if it lacks light. If this is the reason, then move it to a brighter spot where it can bask in the warm sun.

4. Nutrients

The nutrients consumed during flowering are bound to be more than at other times. So, check if the plant is suffering from insufficient nutrient supply. If it is insufficient, you can add some fertilizer. For example, you can use some nutrients such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate to help it bloom.
