If used for symptoms of clearing away heat and fire such as inflammation and fever: take 1 fresh pig gall, 1 gram of borneol, 30 grams of phellodendron, and 15 grams of thalictrum. First, boil the phellodendron and thalictrum with appropriate amount of water until they become a paste. Then cut a hole in the pig gall, squeeze out the bile, and drip it into the boiled phellodendron and thalictrum paste. Then simmer on low heat for 1 to 2 minutes. After turning off the heat, add borneol when the paste is no longer hot. Apply it to the affected area every night.
