The language and meaning of sunflowers

Flower language:

Positive, sunny, loyal, passionate, bright, and silent love.

legend:

One day, the country was attacked by foreigners. The king was very anxious at this time because there were no brave and warlike people available in the country. The king had no choice but to issue an order: whoever can defend the country and repel foreigners can be the son-in-law of my princess and inherit the throne one day in the future.

As soon as the order was passed down, the whole country was in an uproar. At this time, a young man came and took down the order, saying that he could defend the country and repel foreigners. This young man was a commoner, and he was very good at martial arts. He had known the princess for a long time, and they also liked each other. This time he came to lead troops to fight just to marry the princess. The king then asked him to lead the troops to fight the enemy. Before the young man went off to the war, he said to the princess: I may not be back for several years, so don't marry anyone else during these years. Wait for me to come back. If you miss me, stand at the highest point of the palace and I will be able to feel you from far east. The princess and the young man said goodbye to each other in tears.

The young man was very brave and good at fighting. He was always invincible on the battlefield and was about to return to the palace. However, as the king watched the country gradually move towards peace, he began to dislike the young man's background and thought: He is just a commoner, how can he marry my daughter? So the king began to select a son-in-law from among the country's nobles. Although the princess disagreed, she was more stubborn than the king. At this time, the young man on the battlefield was unfortunately killed because of a trap set by the enemy. When the princess learned about this, on the morning of her wedding, she stood alone at the highest point in the palace, looked towards the east, and then jumped down.

After the princess died, people all over the country buried the two people together in their memory. Every year on Qingming Festival, people would go to sweep their tombs. Every time they went, they would find that their tombstones were covered with beautiful flowers. All the flowers bloomed facing the east. The east was the battlefield for young people, the place that the princess was concerned about, and the direction where the sun rises. So people named this flower "sunflower".
