Breeding methods and precautions of Emperor Jade

Breeding methods and precautions of Emperor Jade

1. Maintenance methods

1. Potting soil: Emperor Jade likes loose soil with sufficient nutrients. You can add peat and coarse sand to the soil to enhance the air permeability of the soil.

2. Water: When growing Emperor Jade, you don’t need to water it too much. About once every 3-5 days is enough. There should not be any stagnant water in the pot, and be careful not to pour water into the leaves, as this will cause the leaves of the Emperor Jade to rot. Water from the edges.

3. Temperature: The breeding temperature should be adjusted to a suitable range and can be maintained at 18-24℃. The temperature should not fluctuate greatly. When the temperature rises or drops too much, timely adjustments are required.

4. Sunlight: It is suitable to grow in a dry, cool and sunny environment, but too strong light will burn the emperor jade, so it needs shade in summer.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Pruning: When changing the pot, you can do some simple pruning. Use a clean, sterilized knife to cut off all the roots that have grown on the plant.

2. Reproduction: The propagation of Emperor Jade is by cuttings, which means choosing a large Emperor Jade plant and tillering small seedlings from the root part. Then when the seedlings grow as big as black beans, take out the seedlings, dry the cut, and you can use them for cuttings. At this time, the temperature should be controlled at around 15 to 25 degrees Celsius, and the light should not be too strong. You can see new sprouts growing in about a week.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Leaves wilt: When leaves wilt, you should find out the reason. If it is caused by too much watering, water less and pay attention to ventilation. If the problem is caused by excessive sunlight, provide some shade.

2. Root rot: When the roots rot, dig them out of the soil and trim the rotten parts. The previous soil needs to be replaced and then the plants are planted.

IV. Other issues

1. How to spend the winter: Move the Emperor Jade indoors when winter comes. The temperature cannot be lower than 5℃. Too low temperature will frostbite the Emperor Jade. At this time, you need to take good care of it.

2. Can it be placed indoors: It can be grown indoors, but it should be placed in a ventilated and cool place, and do not water it too much.
