Cutting propagation method of Christmas cactus

Cutting propagation method of Christmas cactus

Breeding time

It is best to propagate Christmas cactus by cuttings in spring and autumn. In spring, it is best to propagate it after the flowering period. This not only allows the leaf-like stems that have bloomed to be cut off and promotes the growth of new leaf-like stems, but is also beneficial for flowering next year. And after pruning, the plant shape can be made better looking.

Cutting selection

You can cut off the dense leaf-like stems of the plant and remove 1-2 nodes as cuttings.

Reproduction method

After the wound of the cuttings is dry, you can directly insert it into the potting soil and cultivate it in a cool and shaded place. It is best to choose potting soil with good drainage, and it does not need to be specially moisturized, just keep it moist. After the cuttings take root, spray slow-release fertilizer on the surface of the potting soil and place it in a well-lit and ventilated place.
