Purple-leafed Berberis can clear away heat and dampness, purge fire and detoxify. It is commonly used to treat acute enteritis, jaundice, pneumonia, conjunctivitis, carbuncles, boils, and metrorrhagia. Berberis purpurogenum usage

For internal use: decoct in water, 1-3 qian; or stew with meat. For external use: decoct in water and use as eye drops; or grind into powder and sprinkle on eyes; also decoct in water and use as hot compress.


Clinical application of Berberis purpurogena

Chronic tracheitis
