How to care for the newly bought pepper tree

How to care for the newly bought pepper tree

1. Soil

First observe the condition of the soil in the pot. If there is a problem of clumping, change the soil and pot in time. Be careful not to dislodge all of the original soil to prevent the roots from being too severely damaged. It is best to use well-drained and breathable soil, and you can mix some leaf mold to increase soil fertility.

2. Environment

Pepper tree is a sun-loving plant. It has a particularly high demand for sunlight. It is not afraid of strong light and is best placed in a place with very sufficient light. It does not need shade in summer. The most suitable temperature for its growth is around 20-30℃. It is both cold-resistant and heat-resistant, so there is no need to worry that its environment will have a great impact on it. It is a plant that can be grown with confidence, but if you want it to grow well, you must try your best to control the temperature and light to achieve good conditions.

3. Watering

Don't water it right after you buy it. It is a drought-resistant plant. Keep the soil dry to allow it to adapt for a while. After it starts to grow, do not allow water to accumulate in the soil and water in small amounts. You can wait until the surface of the potting soil is dry before watering. Water thoroughly each time and make sure the pot has good drainage.

4. Fertilization

It does not have too many requirements for fertilizer. If you want it to grow better, you can fertilize it once a month. You can use compound fertilizer, liquid fertilizer or cake fertilizer.

5. Pruning

It grows very vigorously and quickly. If not pruned promptly it will quickly become a mess. It is very resistant to pruning, so there is no need to worry about damaging the plant. Just prune it into the shape you like.
