What is the flower language of holly?

Flower Language

Holly is the birthday flower for October 11, and its floral language means life. The reason why this flower has such a meaning is that the holly berries will not fall throughout the winter. If the birds have no food in the winter, they can eat these berries to sustain their lives, so it has such a meaning. Most people who are blessed by holly understand the value of life and have a compassionate heart, but they find it difficult to refuse requests from others.

allusion

There is a legend about holly.

It is said that during the Yuan Dynasty, there was a teacher in Shanyin, Kuaiji, named Tang Yu. He came from a relatively poor family and made a living by teaching students. Later, a foreign monk who was in charge of monks in the Jiangnan region relied on his power to do all kinds of evil. In order to steal the treasures in the tomb of the Southern Song Dynasty emperor, he decided to rob the tomb. In the winter of the Wuyin year, a foreign monk came to Xiaoshan with a group of disciples and started robbing tombs. They opened the emperor's tomb, looted all the treasures, chopped up and scattered the emperor's body parts, and set it on fire. Tang Yu was 32 years old at that time. After hearing the news, he sold his property and borrowed money to raise more than 200 taels of silver to bury the remains of the late emperor. He prepared a banquet and invited some young people to eat, then took them to Xiaoshan at nightfall and began to bury the late emperor. Tang Yu collected the remains of those emperors and buried them in Lanting Mountain according to the original arrangement. Interestingly, he dug up a holly tree in front of the Song Dynasty palace and planted it on the grave. Afterwards, Tang Yu thanked everyone and asked them not to tell anyone.

From then on, holly tree became an allusion to describe the nostalgia for the old dynasties.
