The Flower Language and Legend of Tuberose

The Flower Language of Tuberose

The flower language of tuberose is: dangerous happiness.

This has a lot to do with its characteristics. Although tuberose also emits fragrance during the day, it only emits a strong fragrance at night, so it is called tuberose.

It is precisely because its fragrance is too strong that it can make people feel difficulty breathing and affect people's health, so tuberose is not placed indoors. Therefore, its flower language is: dangerous happiness.

The legend of tuberose

According to legend, there was a young man named Zhang in ancient times. His flute playing was very beautiful and famous far and wide.

Summer came. One night, the moon was beautiful. The young man was leaning against a tree and playing the flute. He was playing happily when suddenly a purple cloud flew close to his head and a beautiful fairy descended from the clouds. The fairy said she was a messenger from the Moon Palace. Chang'e liked the sound of his flute very much, so she ordered her to come down and ask for the music score. The young man was very happy when he heard it and gave the music score to the fairy.

Chang'e got the music score and ordered the musicians in the Moon Palace to play. In her joy, she ordered the fairy to come down to earth and invite the boy to the Moon Palace to express her gratitude.

The boy suddenly felt attached to the human world and didn't want to leave it so soon, so he asked the fairy to delay his trip to the Moon Palace for one day.

The fairy did not agree to his request, but only took off the jade hairpin on her head and gave it to him as a souvenir. When she threw it to him, the boy did not catch it, and the hairpin fell to the ground, but the boy could not find it no matter how hard he looked.

As a result, the lily of the valley turned into a flower, and the young man remained in the world, playing the flute every night. This flower not only emits fragrance at night, but the fragrance is most intense especially under the bright moonlight, so it is named "tuberose".
