Can jasmine be rooted in water?

Can jasmine be rooted in water?

1. Is it possible?

Jasmine can be rooted in hydroponics, and the operation is very simple. The hydroponics method is best carried out from April to June. If you take cuttings at this time, the branches will take root in about 2-3 weeks.

2. Hydroponic Method

1. Choose a container: For jasmine hydroponics, you must first prepare a suitable container, preferably a transparent one, so that you can always observe the growth of the plant. The container should be cleaned and added with an appropriate amount of clean water, generally 2-3cm of water is enough.

2. Choose branches: Use branches that are 7-9cm long and growing healthily. Trim off the leaves at the base and keep 2-4 leaves at the top. If too many leaves are kept, it will affect the growth of new roots.

3. Carry out cuttings: Insert the processed branches into the container and place it in a well-ventilated environment. Be careful not to expose to direct sunlight.

3. Water culture and maintenance

1. Light: Do not expose the plant to direct sunlight during maintenance. Too strong sunlight will burn the leaves. Also, you cannot let it grow in a dark environment for a long time, as the leaves will easily turn yellow.

2. Changing water: Before new roots grow out, the water needs to be changed every 2-3 days. After the roots grow out, the water can be changed every 15 days. Add some nutrient solution appropriately while changing the water.

3. Temperature: It is best to give it a growing environment of 25℃. The breeding temperature should not be too high or too low. The temperature in winter should not be lower than 5℃ to avoid frostbite. Too low temperature will freeze the plant to death.
