Step 1: Prepare the water for hydroponics

The water used for hydroponic cultivation of golden barrel cactus should preferably be clean water without pollutants and the pH value should be between 6-6.5. This kind of water is the most suitable.

But you can also use tap water. When using tap water, you need to leave it for 1 or 2 days first, mainly to disperse and evaporate the chlorine in the tap water.

Step 2: Choose a hydroponic container

When growing golden barrel cactus in water, you need to use a container with a mouth that can just hold the body of the golden barrel cactus, and the roots must also be able to be completely placed in the container.

After choosing the container, you can pour water into it. The water should be at 2/3 of the container, making sure it can submerge the roots.

Step 3: Place the golden amber balls

After everything is prepared, you can put the golden barrel cactus ball into the container. Be careful to do it gently so as not to damage the roots. Pay attention to whether the roots can be immersed in the water. If not, you can add water, but not too much water, and do not soak the ball.

Step 4: Water change

Once the golden barrel cactus is repotted, you can start caring for it normally.

During the growing season, you need to change the water frequently, about every 10 days. In hot summer weather, you can change the water once a week to prevent root rot.

In cold seasons, you can change the water every 20 days. Of course, you should also pay attention to shortening the time of water change to ensure the rapid growth of the golden barrel cactus.

When changing the water, be sure to clean the mucus at the roots of the golden barrel cactus and remove the dirt inside the container.
