Agave hydroponic method

If you want to grow agave hydroponically, you can select small plants with beautiful shapes in spring and autumn, remove the roots and disinfect them. When choosing a hydroponic container, choose one with a diameter similar to that of the plant's rosette. Add clean water until it reaches halfway up the root. After a week, you will see tender aquatic roots growing at the root neck and on the old roots.

For hydroponic agave, change the water every 2 to 3 days at the beginning. Add a small amount of nutrient solution after about three weeks of hydroponics and update it every 3-4 weeks. You can often use clean water to wipe the dust on the leaves, which will make the leaf color more beautiful.

Agave hydroponics tips

The growing environment temperature of agave is relatively high, and it can be hydroponically cultivated in a greenhouse all year round.

During the hydroponic culture period of agave, you must pay attention to pests to avoid leaf and plant lesions caused by pests. Pests may cause the agave to lose its ornamental value. In severe cases, the plant may die and the hydroponic culture will fail. If insects are found, they can be captured manually or killed with pesticides.

When growing agave in hydroponics and observing its roots, make sure the agave gets sufficient light and do not place it in a dark place for a long time. Pay attention to keeping warm in winter. Although the daytime sunshine time is short, the agave must still receive sufficient light. Pay attention to prevent frostbite on the agave in winter. When changing water in winter, the water temperature should not be too low, it should be between 12 degrees and 18 degrees.

When growing agave in water and raising fish, make sure there is sufficient oxygen in the vase to allow the fish to grow healthily. The vase should be larger and the water should be changed frequently. It is best to use tap water that has been exposed to the sun and do not add too much nutrient solution.
